It's that time of year again, when punk rock festivals rule the airwaves and ticket sales spike through the roof! The lineups are out and HOLY CROW am I psyched for this years Warped Tour! As soon as I found out that Simple Plan was on the lineup and coming to New Jersey and New York TWICE I did a ceremonial happy dance. For any and all information regarding the 2011 Vans Warped Tour you can go HERE and check out all the cool stuff they have happening this year. They're going to travel a bit and cross the border into Canada, and take the tour throughout the states as always.
For any of you interested in the Bamboozle Festival, they've expanded from the usual 2 days to 3 this year, April 29th-May This years Boozle festival is going to feature another one of my favorite bands, New Found Glory...and if you're not as old as I am and NFG isn't in your top ten favorite bands, you can go check out The Ready Set or LMFAO (seem's they've returned after playing last years Bamboozle Roadshow). For all the details on the 2011 Bamboozle Festival, you can go HERE and see what new and exciting thing's they have in store for this year.
And, finally, the Coachella 2011 lineup. Benji Madden tweeted about the lineup earlier in the week (if you're not following him and you have a twitter I highly suggest hopping on that, you can find him @benjaminmadden) and referred to the lineup as a baseball team cut list, and that everyone anxiously awaits to see who made the team and who got cut. I can honestly say, I've never had any desire to go to Coachella, until this year when I saw Kings Of Leon posted as a headliner. If anyone out there, and I'm sure plenty of you are, is interested in checking out the 2011 Coachella make sure you go HERE and check out what's going to be happening there. Also the fact that Duran Duran is going to be playing this show makes my inner 80's child jump and scream for joy.
Now, on a more personal note, I recently submitted a piece of writing to the Fan's Against Domestic Violence cause, which is authors from all over who submit work and the end result is a compilation of all our work, which is then used as a donation to domestic violence. Unfortunately, the deadline was yesterday, the 21st, but from February 1-28th the cause will be accepting donations for those who are affected by domestic violence. If you have a twitter, please follow @FansAgainstDV and make sure you check out their site Fandom Against Domestic Violence and find out how you can be a part of helping change someones life and donate.
With that said, I'm glad my first update of the new year was informative on many levels, as well as fun! Keep an eye out for more goodies, Simple Plan has a new album coming out VERY soon, and New Found Glory is back in the studio. Good Charlotte is back on the road in the next few weeks and starting their leg of the Cardiology tour in Europe before making their way back to the U.S. If you don't have your tickets for that, go get them! Seriously, what are you waiting for? Go!
Enjoy your weekend everyone!
Don't forget to SING!
