Being an Italian at Christmas time means that the incredible amount of baking that happens in my house is through the roof; I'm talking insanity. We do everything from sugar cookies, to chocolate chips, and everything you can imagine.

I'm Not Dead!

To say it's been a hectic summer is an understatement! I was away for a week in mid-July with about 25 Italians from Brooklyn...we rented a place down the shore and I don't think we're allowed to rent that house again. Ever. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. I've also been SUPER busy trying to find a full time job, as well as get Bryan Fenkart's new tumblr up and running. If any of you have been heeding my advice to follow him or Memphis on twitter then you know that he's going on the national tour this fall as Huey..and that, ladies and gentlemen means that he's taking on the role of the lead! So proud of him! What this means for all of you non New Yorkers is that you now have the ability to see this WONDERFUL play when it rolls into your hometown! Head over to memphisthemusical.com for more information on the tour, including dates. It'll be well worth the money spent, trust me I've seen it three times since January.

Speaking of Broadway shows I went to go see Baby It's You on Thursday night, and it was awesome! If you haven't seen this one yet, HURRY because it's closing soon! I fell so in love with all the glitter, sequins and feathers that were a part of ALL the costumes in this show. When the show's dialogue includes a shopping spree at Sak's Fifth Avenue and 1 pair of shoes are purchased, every woman in the audience feels a sense of pride. That's an accomplishment! It's really upsetting when a show is so good, and it has to close. If any of you haven't seen Baby It's You, then you need to get over there before September 4th, because the curtain will close on this golden oldie after the 8pm show. Don't miss out!!

I don't have many friends that are into country music, but one of my best friends, Alex, took me to my first country concert last night...and it was like the country show of champions! Kenny Chesney and company can put on one hell of a show! The entire bill for the show included Uncle Kracker, Billy Currington (check him out), Zack Brown Band (awesome band!) and then the headliner, king of country himself, Kenny Chesney. I was surprised at myself for the amount of songs that I actually knew! The show was such a different vibe than any other concert I had ever been to. The last time I was at Giant's Stadium was before they demolished the old Meadowlands and built the new one; and it was for a Bruce Springsteen show..probably back in '03 or '04. I was raining buckets at one point but the entire sold out stadium stayed put for Kenny's two and a half hour performance. I almost went into cardiac arrest when he invited New York Yankees right fielder Nick Swisher onto the stage with him! The Yankees had a game that day, and Swisher took a helicopter to the stadium so he could see the show...it was stellar! After Nick Swisher, Chesney brought out the New York Jets (sent the crowd into a fit of screaming all over again) and they partied with him on stage while he played an incredible finale with Zac Brown Band, Billy Currington, and Uncle Kracker. By far one of the most incredible shows I've ever seen...I'm a fan! Also, Billy Currinton might be my new favorite artist for a while...I'm going to try and get a review of him, and whichever album is newest (I need time to research) before I head down to my condo in Virginia Beach on Sunday. Stay posted, because he's playing on my iTunes right now and I'm swooning...so wonderful.

Also, if any of you have tumblr, go HERE and check out the official blog of Bryan Fenkart. I know I talk about him a lot, but I do it for good reason. He's a great artist, not just a singer/songwriter or broadway star, but an artist; he's also one of my friends. He writes his own music, plays the guitar and piano, and his live performances can draw even the rawest of emotions out of someone; I include myself in that emotional statistic. But, the thing about Bryan and his artistry is that he works incredibly hard at what he does, and someone like him with that kind of talent deserves to be heard by the world, so please, check out the new blog (there's no posts yet because we're still in the production phase of it) and head over to his website BryanFenkart.com and browse around. There you can listen to music, see pictures, and videos and be directed to all his other media outlets. Please, let us know what you think of him because feedback and fan interaction is HUGE with Bryan, he loves it, and so do the rest of us on the B-Side!

I truly think I've given you all enough information for now, just a little pick me back up since I've been MIA for the last two months. I hope you're all enjoying your summer, laying out in the sun, spending time at the beach, drinking lots of fun cocktails and taking advantage of all the night life around you!
I'll be back with more cool updates really soon!

Until next time, I'm still hanging out on twitter @gabbymags
